Each menstrual cycle a number of eggs are maturing in the ovaries under the influence of the hormone estrogen. At the same time the cervical crypts in the uterus are producing cervical mucus. It is this mucus that enables the sperms to live long enough in the female body to fertilize the egg or ovum when it is release from the ovary. Any women using natural family planning can identify the signs that indicate ovulation each cycle. You can figure out whether you ovulate or not by doing a basal body temperature curve.

Here's how:

Start keeping track of your temperature on the first day of your period.
Use a basal body thermometer (mercury thermometer), which shows precise changes of 1/10 of a degree in your temperature. A digital thermometer can also work, although it's not as accurate and the 1/10 degree changes can be confusing.
The temperature can be taken either in your mouth or the rectum (or even in the vagina).
Take your basal body temperature before you get up and after at least 3-4 hours of continuous sleep, preferably at the same time each day.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke before you take your temperature.
Write down the temperature on the BBT chart.
On the day of ovulation, there is sometimes a drop in temperature.
About 1-2 days after ovulation, there is usually an increase in temperature by at least 0.2 degrees.
Calculate your coverline after you have detected ovulation.
The temperature stays up until your next menstrual period.

Not ovulating (anovulation) is one of the major reasons why women miss their period (amenorrhea) or have irregular cycles, and why they can't get pregnant. There are three distinct parts of the body that can contribute to ovulation problems: the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the ovary
You can search "google" on line ovulation calendar. You will have to know the dates of your last cycle...this will give you the dates when you are most fertile.

If you have a reliable cycle this can be accurate.as accurate as Nature.and remember everyone is different.
