Questions about problems conceiving?
Answer:
we tried for 1 1/2 years, after I came off the pill.
I would suggest you start tracking your cycle so that you know when you are ovulating. Then have sex the day before, of and the day after you ovulate. Have fun the rest of the month too, just not the day before you are going to start the important *trying* sex. if you are unsure of your ovulation having sex every other day the whole month is best to cover the most amount of days, and allow sperm to build up.
Also remember that once actively trying the average couple takes about 8 months to conceive. (per my fertility doctor).
Good luck (I'm due Dec 20 now)
I had trouble conceiving also. I just stressed myself out. I had myself convinced that I just couldn't bare a child. Then, when I got my PCOS diagnosis I felt like it confirmed my worst fears. But, what I didn't realize is that most women have these fears, and they are normal.
I did end up conceiving my son after three years of trying (born March 4, 2006). One year off and on (total 6 months) of fertility treatment. The year before conceiving I lost a baby due to a car accident (got rear ended).
After trying so hard and doing fertilty we decided we wanted to try on our own for baby #2. And, fertility treatments would be last on our list. I searched for the BEST monitor in the world. I wanted feedback and I wanted referrals for results. What I found was Zetec's OvaCue. I realized, even though charting, and doing OPKs my fertilty day was 2 days off. See, when your charting it tells you that you have (already) ovulated. Not when you are about to. Usually you see a dip, but that can be really confusing as it's not always an indicator.
Anyhow, because of this we were off on our fertile day. And, after one month of OvaCue we are pregnant! I can't believe after three years this one little gizmo helped us do it right away. Also, we weren't stressed.
You should find your peak (fertile) day. It depends on your cycle length and just when your body does it.
I recommend reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" for loads of information about your body. But, for me charting was stressful and caused more fear and anxiety than results. Plus, it was 2 days off. LH surges weren't being recorded on OPKs until after I had ovulated. After two days there was enough LH to cause the ovulation predictor to turn, but ovulation had happened and my egg was fastly detiorating.
Try OvaCute!
You only use it the first half of your cycle. First thing (like charting) it monitors and tells you your peak day. Basically an automated basal body thermometer.
I took 2 shots of the depo. I hated it so I stopped. Hubby and I decided to try to have #2. It took us over a year and a half to get pregnant after my last shot. And my periods were regular. The depo can take up to a year and a half to stop working even if your periods are regular and all that. Well baby #2 came. Beautiful little boy. Then 2 years 10 months later... baby #3 girl. Then 1 year 11 months and we are expecting baby #4 to be here (June 07) Keep trying but make sure you don't stress it. That can screw up your cycle worse than anything. GOOD LUCK and BABY DUST TO YOU!!!
i also had trouble conceiving and tried the propping up thing with no results.
i read online that drinking tea can help.
i stopped drinking my morning coffee n started having just a single glass of tea a day and fell pregnant.
i dont KNOW that it WAS the tea but surely its worth a shot.
it says no more than two glasses of tea per day.
ive also read that you shouldnt be having sex that often as the "stress" from trying can decrease the sperm strength. im not sure if this is true or not either.
but possibly give it a go.
i hope this helps
