Am I A Good Candidate For Temp Charting??

I live in an old house that we will be moving out of in Spring. My problem is that the temperature here varies greatly thanks to drafts. Despite our best efforts to heat the place with oil and a woodstove, it's a big house and gets noticeably colder at night and I throw on an extra blanket. Because of the temperature differences would I still be a good candidate to temp? I would hate to go throught the hassle of temping every day and not have it work because of this.

Answer:
It doesn't matter what the temp. is in your house. Believe it or not, it won't effect your body temp. Unless you were outside in the snow with no clothes on or fell into a frozen lake, the temp. of the air won't do anything to your body temp. Your body stays nice and warm inside and at the appropriate temp. (unless you are sick with a fever and your temp. goes up) regardless of the temp. of the air. Just be sure to take your temp. the second you wake up in the morning. Don't wait even a minute or two. Keep the thermometer right next to your bed and the second you wake up, take your temp. and write it down so you don't forget it. Good luck!
Everyone is a good candidate to temp. Your surroundings shouldn't affect your temps that much. Make sure you use a basal thermometer. You can get them at most drug stores and they are usually in the family planning section. They run about 10.00. Also, use a site like fertilityfriend.com to record your temps. It will also explain how to keep track of other fertility signs such as cervial mucous, cervial position, etc... to confirm your temperatures.

Good luck.
Uhhh not neccessarily true ladies. If you have a ton of blankets on it could possibly affect your temps. Just as breathing with your mouth open could affect your temps.

As long as you are consistent each night you should still be able to see a pattern. An extra blanket on your bed every night probably won't hurt.

I would suggest temping vaginally so you can be sure to get an accurate reading.
