Lately I've been having more heart burn than normal and last night it was so severe that is was making me nauseous and it was hard to sleep. I keep getting hot and then having chills, I was very uncomfortable. Also lately I've been having to go poop a lot and this morning I had to drink something before I could even get it out. Its driving me nuts. I've been having mild cramping off and on and some head aches. I don't know if its just nothing or if its something. I'm a week late for my period and I took a hpt but it was negative? Is there still a possibility I'm pregnant even though the test was negative or am I just having strange problems for other reasons?
My friends doctor told her some times women have to wait until 3 weeks after you've missed your period to get an accurate test, any one else heard of this? I don't want to go see a doctor is there is no point.
Answer:
It could be pregnancy but it could be any number of things. I would not wait. Go to a doctor and get examined. The "hot and then having chills" are not normal signs of pregnancy. If you think you might be pregnant, your doctor will want to rule out ectopic pregnancy. He can also order a blood test that will give a highly reliable indication of pregnancy 6 to 8 days after ovulation.
I'd wait about another week and take another test. You just might have the flu or something...
