Does having a 'tilted womb' make it more difficult to conceive?

Im 29 and still not pregnant, stopped pill in May 2006. Have a child with previous partner ok 6 yrs ago, my new partner and me are finding it difficult to conceive but I have tilted womb. Any ideas?

Answer:
Hi Janey. I dont believe a tilted womb has any effect on your fertility and as you say you managed 6 years ago. I have been trying to conceive for 3 years, me and my husband are now seeing a specialist. It is normal for it to take up to a year to fall pregnant so try not to worry too much, if you still have had no luck by May then its time to see your doctor to check everything is working ok. Try to relax, when we are stressed we release cortisol which has a devastating effect on the body and is no wonder conception doesnt happen. Spoil yourself and have lots of fun. Good luck x
Uterin position has no effect on fertility. A tipped uterus will usually right itself during the 10th to 12th week of pregnancy.

If a uterus does not right itself, it may be labeled persistent. "Persistent retroflexion of the pregnant uterus is incompatible with advanced pregnancy. If spontaneous or artificial reposistion does not occur, the patient either aborts or develops symptoms caused by incarceration of the uterus before the end of the fourth month. In exceptional instances, however, pregnancy may proceed, resulting in uterine sacculation. Spontaneous delivery is impossible, and rupture of the uterus may occur.
i have a tilted womb and conceived 3 times quite easily, have you considered your partner might have a low sperm count, maybe yous both should go to your docs and have some tests done
All wombs are tilted to some extent. It won't affect fertility but may affect the size of your bump- if it's tilted enough you could have a very small one!
Send your new partner for a checkup, and good luck.
Not at all, my mum had a tilted womb and had three children (sadly one did die shortly after birth, but this was not related to the womb). Have you tried ovulation tests? I was trying for 8 months and then decided to use a kit and fell pregnant the first use.
Good luck, and try to relax, that helps too!
yes a tilted womb does make a diffrence but i think u should consult a dr if it does not happen in about another 6 months of trying,as my friend had a same problem and she had to go through iui
my uterus is shaped as an upside down heart. its been real hard for me to conceive this time around.i have two girls 8 and 6 and since ive had my 6 year old ive had to have one of my tubes taken from a tubal preg. its hard when you try for a child and nothing happens. I have an inverted uterus and I am a "fertile Myrtle." I returned from a deployment in November 2001 and we concived two months later. We concieved again 3 months after our first child was born. I had a IUD for a few years, and then we concieved again within 3 months of having the IUD removed, and then concieved again when the littest one was about 6 months old.
